Title - Accrington 1918 Absent Voters List | Analysis

A first analysis of the 7,139 entries in the Accrington 1918 Absent Voters List indicates that of those from the Greater Accrington area who were in wartime service at the time, only 1-in-6 (16.7%) were with the East Lancashire Regiment. While it is not possible to see from the published data how many men were serving with 11/East Lancashire (Accrington Pals), a reasonable estimate would be between 200 and 250 (2.8-3.5 per cent).
