Photograph taken in Avenue Parade, Accrington, probably in 1921. Albert Edward Lythe, son of Walter Herbert Lythe - founder of the Lythe firm - and brother of Ernest, stands at the door of the firm's brand-new Ford van, smoking his pipe. The firm's workshop was behind the family home at 32 Park Street. Photograph by kind courtesy of Patricia Lythe MacLaren.
