18013 Sgt. Philip Foster is second from left on the front row of this photograph taken at Skillingrove on the North Yorkshire coast in August 1918. One half-company of the 3rd Bn., East Lancashire Regt. was stationed here to guard a factory producing explosives and poison gas.
Unfortunately I only have a photocopy of the original print, hence the poor quality of the image. The photograph is thought to be of officers from the 10th (Reserve) Battalion East Lancashire Regiment taken in southern England in 1915 or early 1916. Standing third from right is Cecil Douglas Gay.
